Workshop Schedule
No Charge
The Reid Family Foundation is offering these fully funded educational workshops, without requiring any financial commitment from participants. Instead, we ask for something more valuable than money. We ask that anyone who registers, fully commits to attending the entire workshop from beginning to end. The idea behind this opportunity is to pass on the gift of possibility to others and to make these learning opportunities accessible to anyone. When someone registers, and then decides not to come, another person, who really wanted to come, loses out. Should you cancel or not show up for a workshop that you are registered for, we will need to remove your name as an attendee from any future workshops. We will gladly place you on a waitlist and should an opening become available, we will contact you. We thank you for understanding our position in wanting to share these life changing workshops with as many people as possible. Substance use including alcohol, smoking and vaping is prohibited during the workshops and on the premises of the workshops.
"The Art and Science of Effective Conversation"

"Exquisite Listening®" - Learning to Listen to Others
Most people think the key to good communication is what they say and how they say it; focusing on presenting their own views more effectively. Although important, this is a misguided approach and represents missed opportunities. More and more research is pointing to good listening as the critical skill necessary in developing deeper relationships, reducing conflict, and finding fresh insights and ideas that fuel success. In this highly engaging workshop, led by Dr. Ted Klontz, Ph.D, participants learn new ways to listen, practice unique models of conflict resolution, and are introduced to brain functioning as it relates to how we communicate.
The format of this workshop is classroom style that includes some presenting of information and then lots and lots of practice with others in the workshop.
*Please note that travel expenses, including (but not limited to) airfare and lodging, for "Exquisite Listening" workshops are the responsibility of the attendee. All materials, instructor fees, venue expenses and snacks are the responsibility of The Reid Family Foundation. Substance use including alcohol, smoking and vaping is prohibited during the workshops and on the premises of the workshops.

"Experiential Listening" - Learning to show what you hear
Would you like to understand and be understood more clearly in conversation? How about reducing conflict in your personal and professional relationships? Or, maybe you'd like your children to open up and talk to you more. This engaging, hands-on workshop, led by Dr. Ted Klontz, Ph.D, will help you do all that and more. You will learn to "show" what you hear using the latest evidence based tools and techniques. This training is specifically designed to make conversation a visual experience as well as a listening one. This unique approach engages the entire brain; increasing our ability to hear others and be heard by others more deeply.
The format of this workshop is a mix of classroom style presentations, experiential practice and group processing to check for understanding.
*Please note that travel expenses, including (but not limited to) airfare and lodging for "Experiential Listening" workshops are the responsibility of the attendee. "Ultimate Listening" - Learning to listen to yourself
In this nature-based workshop, Dr. Ted Klontz, Ph.D creates activities to help you find a greater sense of purpose and connection by learning to listen to your own inner wisdom. You will learn ways to align personal values and passions with how you spend your time each day, become more trusting or your own intuition and get more things done by reducing procrastination. Because of the special structure of this program, space is very limited.
The format of this workshop is very different than the others. Participants go out each day and engage in a nature based exercise at various locations in the area. (Schedule is different for each workhop.) Usually, spending some time alone to listen deeply to their own inner voice. Then, they return to the group to share any insights with others. (Permission to pass is always respected.) Some light to moderate walking will be part of this program.
Since this is a nature based workshop, people should expect to pack for changes in weather, carry a backpack, eat picnic lunches (often at local parks) and sit outside for several hours.
Also, each one is a bit different from the others, should you have any specific questions, please contact us.
*Due to the special nature of this workshop, lodging is included by The Reid Family Foundation. All materials, instructor fees and transportation during the workshop are also included. Transportation to the site is the responsibility of the attendee, including the transfer from the airport to the site. Meals vary depending on the workshop and participants will receive an information packet upon registration with specific details. Substance use including alcohol, smoking and vaping is prohibited during the workshops and on the premises of the workshops.

"Touching Mortality" - Making Peace with Your Own Mortality
During this workshop, we will be focusing on our past, current and future relationship with mortality. The idea is to think of our own mortality as a family member, friend or neighbor who we’ve been expecting to appear at our door and call us away towards our next adventure. We do this by reaching out and proactively leaning in to develop a friendship with mortality instead of waiting for it to touch us one final time.
Similar to the "Ultimate Listening" workshop, this is a nature based workshop. As a participant, you will spend time outside doing reflective exercises to deeply listen to that part of yourself that you don't know very well. There is an ancient, wise part of us who may feel unfamiliar and is difficult to "hear" but, actually has something important for us to know. The exercises are meant to help you turn your attention inward and listen to that part.
Each day, you will engage in the exercises by spending time alone, usually outside. In the silence of solitude, you will be more able to listen and develop a relationship with your own mortality. Then, you will have the opportunity to return to the group and share your discoveries.
